GUT is the oldest and the largest scientific and technological academic institution in Pomerania region, employing 2.500 staff including 1.200 academics. The number of students approximates 20.000. Their career choices vary from architecture to business and management, from mathematics and computer science to biotechnology and environmental engineering, from applied chemistry to geodesy and transport, from ocean engineering to mechanical engineering and ship technology, from civil engineering to telecommunication, electrical and control engineering. GUT provides broad-based education and research within engineering science, natural science and architecture. Education and cooperation with industry are an increasingly important part of our existence and have now become a life-long process.

Norwegian Institute for Air Research (NILU) - Norwegian Partner

NILU is an independent research institute founded in 1969. The institute conducts environmental research with emphasis on the sources of pollution, atmospheric transport and transformation, deposition and other removal processes, effects of pollution on ecosystems, materials and health and cost-benefit analysis of environmental strategies. NILU is conducting approximately 250 projects every year for governments, industry and national and international organizations. During the last 2 decades NILU has been involved in coordination and performance of several projects and consulting services for the EU DG Research, EU DG Environment, UN ECE, HELCOM, PARCOM and other international and national organizations and programs aiming at the protection of the environment in Europe. NILU has a long standing expertise in methodologies such as i.e.: emission estimation and prediction, forecasting, dose/response for health, materials and ecosystems, cost-benefit and socio-economic analysis, national and international co-ordination.
